About Ayur Vaidyanath

Located at Kakkanad [Ernakulam District] and Pala [Kottayam District] of Kerala, the abode of Ayurveda, Ayur Vaidyanath is an initiative from a family which have more than 400 years of legacy in practicing Ayurveda.

Ayur vaidyanath is managed and run by doctors to provide authentic and affordable Ayurveda treatments for all sections of the society. At Ayur Vaidyanath, we provide result oriented and authentic Ayurveda treatments under the guidance of well experienced Ayurveda doctors/ Vaidyas, including doctors with MD/MS in different Ayurveda specialities, along with a team of experienced and dedicated supporting staffs.

The name "Ayur Vaidyanath" is derived from two Sanskrit words, “Ayu:” and “Vaidyanath". The word “Ayu:” means “Life” and the word "Vaidyanath" refers to the Master of Medicine or Great Vaidya. As per Ayurveda, Lord Dhanwanthari is considered as Vaidyanath, the supreme healer, who have infinite power to save people from diseases and sufferings.

As per Indian culture and traditions, Lord Shiva is also considered as Lord Vaidyanath, the supreme healer. There are many temples in India where Lord Shiva is worshipped as Vaidyanath. In fact in one temple among twelve Jyotirlingas (the most sacred abodes of Lord Shiva) Lord Shiva is worshipped as Vaidyanath. In Kerala also numerous temples are there where Lord Shiva is worshipped as Vaidyanath, the Supreme healer.

“I bow down in front of you Lord Dhanvantari. Your lotus feet is respectfully worshipped by the gods and demons. You have infinite powers to save the people from the miseries of diseases, ageing, fear of death and other sufferings. Oh Lord, please bless me with your grace and medicines so that I can also help the people with cures from their diseases”
