Marma Clinic

Marma Clinic (Orthopedic clinic) is the Ayurveda Orthopedic and rehabilitation clinic which follows the diligently formulated Orthopedic management protocol of Ayurveda Medical Association of India (AMAI) along with our traditional knowledge in Marma therapy which is passed from generations to generations.

Marma are the vital areas of the body. The word Marma in Sanskrit means hidden or secret. By definition, a Marma point is a junction on body where two or more types of tissue meet, such as muscles, veins, ligaments, bones or joints. Common ailments like body ache, faulty spinal alignment, pain in the joints can be rejuvenated through Marma Chikitsa, which involves Swedana, Abhayanga, Pizhichil, and Kizhi (bolus) treatment etc.. The human body, needs shodhana(revitalisation) in order to perform its function normally and efficiently. In Ayurvedic system Marma massage is performed as a routine in preventive medicine. A professional therapist isolates Marma points and tone them by increasing blood flow to affected part of the neuro-muscular junction. They also aim to tone the surrounding muscles.

Orthopedic diseases are a general term for all conditions affecting the muscles, ligaments and joints in any part of the body. An injury or damage to the ligament or joints affects the movement of the joint and quality of life. Ayurveda gives importance to the Marma chikiltsa in the orthopedic treatments. The revitalisation property of the marma chiktsa is effectively used in Ayurveda in orthopedic treatments so that faster and effective results are obtained in a shorter time period.

Ayurveda Medical Association of India [AMAI] is one among the biggest association of qualified Ayurveda doctors in India. It is a professional organisation of Ayurveda doctors representing all streams of doctors, including Ayurveda doctors of Private and government fields. Considering the effectiveness of orthopedic management by Ayurveda, AMAI started the concept of Marma clinic [Ayurveda orthopedic and rehabilitation clinic] with diligently formulated orthopedic management protocol. AMAI not only formulated this protocol with expert guidance but also provided special training programs to doctors to follow this protocol. AMAI also proving ongoing training programs with experts of Ayurveda Orthopedic / Marma chikitsa, for the specially selected doctors who runs the Marma Clinics. This helps the doctors to get updated knowledge in the area and also to help them to polish their knowledge.
